Join the Guild

We're going back to where it started we're going back to guilds.

A craft used to be learned beside someone who already did the work. Quantitative research is a craft. A diploma does not substitute for it.

We are hiring exceptional people out of high school, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs into the guild.

About the job

You will do quantitative research with the guild: questions, code, and write-ups that have to survive an argument. This is paid work, not a course and not a recruiting exercise.

  • Research on markets, risk, and systematic strategies
  • Code someone else can rerun
  • A seat at the table if the work is good
Why a guild

The work is the credential.

College credentialed people. Guilds trained them. For most of history you learned a craft by doing it next to someone who had already been wrong in public.

01 · Apprenticeship

You learn the job by doing the job

Feedback is specific. The standard is the work in front of us, not a syllabus four years removed from a market.

02 · Evidence

Show what you have built

A transcript says where you sat. A repository, a paper, a competition, or a trading journal says how you think.

03 · Early

Serious beats polished

We will take a high school student who has already built something over an applicant who has never shipped a result.

Who this is for

Three doors in. Same standard.

The internship is open to exceptional talent at three stages. The pay range is the same shape for all three. Where you land in it depends on the work you can already do.

High school

Ahead of the curriculum

You are already building. You can point at something — code, a write-up, a competition — and explain the choices you made.

Undergraduate

The degree is in progress

Coursework is not the point. We read what you have made outside of it, and we will pay you to make more of it here.

Postgraduate

Depth, ready to ship

Mathematics, statistics, computer science, or markets. You can turn that depth into research someone else can rerun and argue with.

The role

Quantitative Researcher

Driven by endless curiosity and a need to understand why.

  • Frame the question

Markets, risk, and systematic strategies. You will pick a question that can be answered, not a topic that can be admired.

  • Write code that survives someone else

If it cannot be rerun, it is not a result. You will leave the work in a state another person can pick up.

  • Reproduce, then extend

Read the paper. Rebuild the result. Only then decide what is actually new.

  • Write it so it can be taught

A finding that cannot be explained cannot be used. You will present the work, and the work will be argued with.
